Ordering & Transfers

Ordering & transfers

How buying from us works, in one place. Washington and federal rules are summarised in plain English; they are not legal advice.

Ordering

Almost everything on the site is ordered to build: you pay, we place the order with the maker on our dealer allocation, and we email you when it ships to us. Prices are the manufacturer’s list prices. Lead times depend on the brand and model; ask us before you order if timing matters.

Payment

  • Cards are charged at checkout. Card payments carry a 3% surcharge (shown as a line in your total, not more than our cost of acceptance); cash, bank transfer or check, where offered, has none.
  • Prefer a deposit? Call (844) 289-1911. Builds take a 40% deposit; for catalog orders we agree the deposit with you and send a payment link. The balance is due before transfer.
  • Nothing is stored on this site: card details go straight to the payment processor.

Taking delivery

  • Pick up in Lake Stevens (Washington residents), by appointment. At the first visit you complete the federal Form 4473 and the Washington application, show government photo ID and proof of a firearm-safety course within the last five years, and we submit the state background check ($36 state fee on transfers). Washington requires ten business days from that request before any firearm is handed over; we text you to book the pickup.
  • Ship to your dealer in any state where the item is legal, free of charge. You name the dealer at checkout; your dealer emails a signed copy of their licence to ffl@precisionshooting.us and we confirm it on ATF’s FFL eZ Check before shipping. Their transfer fee and state rules apply at pickup. Handguns can only go to a dealer in your state of residence.
  • Age: 21 for handguns, suppressors and semi-automatic rifles; 18 for other rifles.

Washington rules

  • Rifles that meet Washington’s assault-weapon definition (RCW 9.41.390) and magazines over ten rounds (RCW 9.41.370) are not sold, picked up or delivered in Washington. Listings say so; they ship only to a dealer in another state.
  • The person on the background check takes the firearm. Nobody else can collect it for you.
  • If a background check is denied the sale cannot be completed; see Returns for what happens next.

Suppressors and other NFA items

Paid at checkout. Washington buyers file the ATF Form 4 with us at an appointment (passport-quality photo, fingerprints, individual or trust) and collect after ATF approval; our NFA fee is $125. Out-of-state buyers name an SOT dealer at checkout; the item goes to them on a Form 3 and they file your Form 4. The federal transfer tax on suppressors has been $0 since 1 January 2026.

Transfers of firearms bought elsewhere

$50 per firearm, $25 for each additional firearm in the same transfer, plus the $36 Washington background check. NFA items received on a Form 3: $125. Private-party transfers: $50. Details on the Transfers page.

Order status

There are no customer accounts. Call or text (844) 289-1911 or email hello@precisionshooting.us for the status of an order or build; we also email you when a build starts and when an NFA approval lands.

Changes and cancellations

Catalog orders: tell us as soon as possible; once the maker has accepted the order, the maker’s cancellation terms apply and we confirm any charge with you before acting. Custom builds: 10% restocking fee before parts are ordered and received, 40% after. Services and state fees are non-refundable once performed or submitted.
